Speedy’s best friend, Shakes works at the Babalaas Brewery in Happy Township, where he is a beer taster. This may be part of the reason why Shakes seems a bit slow and distracted at times, but no one is sure. Shakes loves listening to Speedy’s jokes, and knows that if he sticks around long enough, he will eventually be offered a bowl of Miriam’s chakalaka.
